About Me
|
A little more info about me:
|
Last year on a cruise, I went to the "meet and greet" for single passengers. I was hesitant to go because I wasn't trying to pick someone up and didn't want to meet a bunch of people who were. But, I figured I should give it a chance and I could always leave if it was lame.
Only 5 or 6 people showed up. But, everyone was friendly and we went to dinner together. (Shout out to Gerry for steering our first dinner). We had a very enjoyable time and agreed to meet the next day for drinks before dinner.
All but one showed up the next day and a couple of us dragged along some other solo passengers we had met along the way. Well, in a few short days we had a very loose group of about 20 solos.
I call us solos because not everyone was single. Some had spouses that couldn't or wouldn't travel, some were with relatives, some were actually single! We started meeting everyday around 7pm for drinks and chat. And many friendships were born.
By the end of the cruise, I couldn't go anywhere on board (and it was a big ship) without bumping into a new friend. I had a blast and my idea for this website was born.
Why wait until the next journey to meet some new travel friends?
My vital statistics: I'm divorced with a son in college. I love to travel (duh!), drink wine, scuba dive, snow ski, hike, and read among other things.
I love The Amazing Race and have applied twice - didn't get so much as a call either time!
Some of my "bucket list" travel dreams: African safari, Antarctica expedition, Galapagos Islands, and diving the Great Barrier Reef.

Wanderlust posted in the group discussion topic "New Year's Trip":There'd be a decent age range. Probem with New Year's Eve is cost - several hundred dollars more per person over holidays. But, if we put something together for first week AFTER New Year, price is much better.
